We collect the minimum we need to sell you something and to meet the recordkeeping the federal government requires of a licensed dealer. We do not sell your information.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, email address, phone number, and the state you would be shipping to.
- Order details: what you bought or asked about, your shipping address, and your order history.
- Inquiry details: the message you send us through an Armory product page, plus your age attestation and ship-to state.
- Payment information for apparel orders: card data is entered on Stripe's hosted checkout and never touches our servers. We receive only a confirmation, the last four digits, and the billing name and address.
- Basic technical data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to keep the site running and secure.
Identification documents and firearm records
Required by federal law
When you buy a firearm from us, federal law requires you to complete ATF Form 4473 and requires us to verify your identity against a valid government-issued photo ID. We record the identifying information from that ID on the 4473 as the form requires.
- We retain completed ATF Forms 4473 and our Acquisition & Disposition record for as long as federal regulations require, and we surrender them to the ATF as required when a license is discontinued.
- These records are kept for regulatory compliance only. We do not use them for marketing, and we do not sell, rent, or trade them.
- We disclose them to the ATF and to law enforcement only where the law requires or permits it — for example, during a licensed-dealer inspection or in response to a lawful trace request.
- We do not retain photocopies or scans of customer photo ID beyond what the 4473 itself requires.
- Permit or licence copies you send us for a restricted-state ammunition shipment are kept with that order's record and are not used for anything else.
How we use it
- To process orders, arrange transfers, and ship what you bought.
- To answer inquiries and reach you about an item you asked about.
- To confirm eligibility and comply with federal, state, and local firearm law.
- To detect and prevent fraud and to keep the site secure.
- To send occasional email about new arrivals — only if you asked for it, and every message has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We share only what a provider needs to do its job, and only with these categories:
- Payment processing — Stripe, for apparel checkout. Stripe handles card data under its own privacy policy.
- Shipping carriers, to deliver your order and provide tracking.
- Receiving FFL dealers, when a firearm is transferred to a dealer you select.
- Email and hosting providers that operate this site and deliver our transactional email.
- Government agencies, where federal, state, or local law requires disclosure.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks.
How long we keep it
- Firearm transaction records: for the full period federal regulations require.
- Order and tax records: as long as needed for accounting and tax purposes.
- Inquiries: until resolved, then for a reasonable period as business records.
- Marketing email lists: until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
We use only what the site needs to function — a cookie to keep your cart contents between visits, and a session cookie for the Studio login our staff uses. Blocking cookies will empty your cart between visits but will not otherwise break the site.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, payment card data is handled entirely by Stripe, and access to order and inquiry records is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to a business of our size.
Children
This site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or unsubscribe from marketing at any time. We honor these requests except where federal firearm recordkeeping law requires us to retain a record — those we cannot delete on request.
