Refunds & Cancellations

Apparel is easy to return. Ammunition and firearms are not, for safety and legal reasons that apply to every licensed dealer. Here is exactly where you stand.

Apparel and accessories

  • Return within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, as long as the item is unworn, unwashed, and has its tags attached.
  • Wrong size? Exchange it once at no cost to you, subject to availability.
  • You cover return shipping unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or was not what you ordered.
  • Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of us receiving the return.

Ammunition

All ammunition sales are final

For safety reasons we cannot accept the return of ammunition once it has left our premises. There is no way for us to verify how a round has been stored, handled, or altered, and reselling returned ammunition would be irresponsible. This is standard practice across the industry.

  • You may cancel an ammunition order at any time before it ships, for a full refund.
  • If we ship you the wrong ammunition, we will make it right at our expense — do not open the box; contact us and we will arrange the return.
  • Manufacturing defects are handled by the manufacturer, and we will help you open the claim.

Firearms

All sales are final once transferred

Once a firearm has been transferred to you on an ATF Form 4473, it is legally a used firearm and we cannot take it back as a return. Any subsequent transfer back to us is a separate acquisition with its own paperwork, at a price we would quote you at the time.

  • Before transfer, you may cancel for a full refund of anything you have paid us, less any transfer fee a receiving dealer has already charged you.
  • If your background check is denied or you are otherwise found ineligible, the sale is cancelled and we refund you in full. We keep no cancellation fee for a denial.
  • If a firearm has not been picked up within 30 days of arriving at the transfer dealer, we may cancel the sale and refund you, less a 10% restocking fee.
  • A firearm that arrives with a manufacturing defect is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Bring it to us and we will coordinate the warranty claim on your behalf.
  • Used firearms are sold as-is and described honestly. Condition notes on the product page are part of the description — read them before you commit.

Orders we cancel

We may cancel any order and refund you in full if the item sold before we could confirm it, if it was listed at an obviously wrong price, if a background check is denied or delayed beyond what we can hold inventory for, if your ship-to state prohibits the item, or if anything about the transaction leads us to believe it would be unlawful. A cancellation for legal reasons is never treated as your fault and never carries a fee.

How to start a return or cancellation

Email Travis@BrownCountyArmory.com or call (317) 874-8751 with your order number and what you would like to do. We will reply within one business day with return instructions. Do not send anything back before you hear from us — unauthorized returns may be refused.

Refund timing

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Card refunds usually appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. We will email you when the refund is issued.
